------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UNITED we are Strong, UNITED we will Win Remember 9/11/01 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Thank you for downloading the 100 ton PRR Coal Car Ver 1.1 September 9, 2001 (Repaint: 3/18/03) *********************************************************************** Installation notes for the: "100 ton Coal" 1) Copy the folder that was created by WinZip into your "Train Simulator\Trains\Trainset\" folder. 2) Open the Activity Editor and create a new Consist and enjoy your new coal car. There are two versions of this car. One is empty and the other is fully loaded. This way you can mix and match your consists. Each car has had a proper weight entered into the wag file. So a consist of empties will be completely different from a consist of loaded cars. *********************************************************************** Repainting information: The included BMP file includes both sides and ends of the car. This was done to facilitate the repainting of non symetrical schemes such as those cars that mark the rotary end the car with a different color (PP&L does this in my area). The leftmost view of the end is mapped to the brake end of the car. The rectangle of color under each end image is used on the surfaces on that end of the car such as ladders and supports. I can't promise that every scheme will paint perfectly, but it should be good enough for most uses. One last note, the coupler color is the rectangle to the right of the brakewheel, couplers are left unpainted, so be sure to avoid that section if you are doing a complete recolor of the entire car. *********************************************************************** If you have any questions, comments, or trouble with this model, please contact one of the following project members. Kembla and Old Bulli. Coal trains from Old Bulli were hauled by NSWGR standard goods locos from Old Bulli Exchange Sidings to AIS Exchange Sidings at Cringila with a standard NSWGR brakevan at the rear. Coal trains from Wongawilli and Mt.Kembla were hauled by AIS steam or diesel locos from the colliery to the AIS coal stacking ground, with an ex-NSWGR CHG (or other standard NSWGR) brakevan at the rear (required for the part of the trip over NSWGR metals between Dapto and Unanderra). Details of these wagons can be found in 'Railway Freight Wagons in New South Wales 1982', John Beckhaus, ARHS, 1982 - pages 79 and 84. Updated textures by Brian Bere-Streeter Installation: extract this zip file to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\TRAINS\TRAINSET Create a consist with this wagon. Suitable Consists to use with these cars are contained both herein, and in the appropriate locomotive packs - in both cases the Consists will need to be copied into the MSTS 'Consists' Folder under Trains in the main MSTS folders. To use these Consists you will also need the 'AU_AIS_Private_Locos' pack, the NSWGR 19 Class pack and the NSWGR 50 Class packs. In the 'Main Illawarra V3' route, I have included appropriate Paths to use these wagons with, and a document in the route - 'Guidelines for Realistic Traffic Workings for the Main Illawarra Route.doc' contains details of how these wagons were worked at the AIS Port Kembla steelworks.
