Australia New South Wales Government Railways BIN ready cabview pack for 400/600/620/DEB/Silver City Comet railcars for Microsoft Train Simulator. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST HAVE MSTS BIN INSTALLED TO AVOID ERROR MESSAGES WHEN OPENING TRAIN SIMULATOR. THESE CABVIEWS HAVE BEEN TESTED ON THE LATEST VERSION OF MSTS BIN, VERS 1.8.0521. I CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT THEY WILL WORK UNDER AN EARLIER VERSION OF BIN, THE LIGHTING SECTIONS IN THE ENG FILES WERE WRITTEN SPECIFICALLY FOR THIS VERSION OF BIN. Credits: -------- Cab view by Jim Halsey. e-mail: jhalsey@optusnet.com.au Thanks must go to Bruce Agland at the Rail Motor Society, Paterson, N.S.W. for his advice and photos, and also the Lachlan Valley Railway, Cowra, N.S.W. for allowing me access to the cabin area of the rolling stock to take the relevant photos. Installation: ------------- There is only one Version of this cab: Imperial (Miles per Hour) speedometer. To use this Cabview pack, you MUST HAVE Brian Bere-Streeter's original 400 class railcars, 600/700 class railcars, 620/720 class railcars, DEB railcars and Silver City Comet packs installed in their existing folders named <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-400-500Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-600-700Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-620-720Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-DEB-Set >>> <<< AU_nswgr_SilverCityComet >>> The Patch File for the 600/700, 620/720 and DEB sets -NSWGR-Railcars-PATCH-1B.zip- MUST also be installed prior to installing the cabview pack. Please ensure that all the railcars are working properly before attempting this install. Delete all Cabview and Sound folders under <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-400-500Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-600-700Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-620-720Class >>> <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-DEB-Set >>> <<< AU_nswgr_SilverCityComet >>> You must also delete the CT-704.wag file in the <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-600-700Class >>> folder and NTC-725.wag in the <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-620-720Class >>>. Failure to delete these two files will produce errors when opening MSTS. Unzip the new files into a temporary folder, then copy and paste the TRAINS folder straight into the <<< Train Simulator >>> folder (your main train simulator folder, check the name to be sure). You will get a warning CONFIRM FOLDER REPLACE, SELECT Yes to all. You will get a warning CONFIRM FILE REPLACE, SELECT Replace all. The new files will replace existing eng files to enable the cabview to animate correctly, and will also create a Common.Cab folder and Common.Snd folder with all railcars correctly aliased, they will also place a CT-704.eng file in the <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-600-700Class >>> folder and a NTC-725.eng file in the <<< AU_nswgr_Railcars-620-720Class >>> folder, thereby allowing reverse running under MSTS BIN. There are two horns on this cab, pushing the lever away sounds the CITY horn (press b), towards you sounds the COUNTRY horn (press spacebar). A separate pack is available for people not using MSTS BIN. If for any reason you do not have all of the railcars installed (I can't think of any reason why that would be the case) just delete the folders that are not required. If you have any problems installing this add-on, please e-mail me at jhalsey@optusnet.com.au SPECIAL FEATURE FOR THIS MSTS BIN VERSION ONLY ============================================== If you have MSTS BIN installed on your system, these Cabviews are setup for Reverse running, and correct bi-directional lighting. Press the S key to put the locomotive into neutral, now press the F9 function key to bring up the TRAIN OPERATIONS window. Select the Railcar that you want to drive and then press the View 1 key - this will change the view to the rear driving cab, then close the TRAIN OPERATIONS window by pressing the F9 function key again.
